3. Not all cotton is equal
If you think high thread count is the only thing to consider – think again. It’s a combination of things. Good quality fibre (long is best), and the type of weave is also important. Some marketing tactics can be misleading, when just the thread count is shown and you can be fooled into buying a poor quality sheet with a high thread count. Some of these will pil as they have short fibres which easily break. Also some market the thread count, by stating the strand count. For example there could be 3x strands twisted to make a thread. If that’s the case a 900 strand count is actually 300 thread count. Confused? Rule of thumb, you get what you pay for.
